Character: Yuri Hyuga
Canon: Shadow Hearts: Covenant, right after Yuri "dies" in the good ending.
Age: 25

Background Information: Right here.

Personality:
- Badass
- Thinks he's cooler than he really is
- A giant fuckin himbo who shares exactly one braincell with like 4 people in his traveling party, used to be kind of an edgelord (and still is to an extent) but has changed since the events of the first game.
- Really likes dogs and kids (would probably beat up that one dad from Fullmetal Alchemist iykyk)
- Is actually a giant softie even if he tries his hardest to be a badass, has a good heart of... tarnished gold, at least.
- Truly good of heart, dumb of ass
- Girls soft, he'd agree with Zidane about 'ooh, soft!' tbh, but there's only one girl that he really loves and would want to kiss
- Despite dealing with spooky shit, being able to transform into crazy monster forms, demons, and eldrich horrors, Yuri is afraid of ghosts. Yes, really.
- He gets seasick. Will it come up in Song? Maybe not, but it's funny.
- Pretty good at living in the wilderness considering he was doing so for at least a decade before the events of the first game.

Going slightly more in-depth for the sake of some other traits: definitely has some trauma that he likes to cover up with shitty humor, suffers from Female Lead Love Interest Is Dead Syndrome which really does mess him up though he tries to push through it, and he does a pretty good job of it. Usually. Talking about his problems isn't something he enjoys doing, but if someone's close enough he may open up a little. Otherwise, nothing's wrong, everything's fine don't worry about it.

There's not a problem he can't punch, and if he can't punch it, he'll try to punch it anyway. Brute force tends to work best for him, and that's how he'll usually solve his problems.

- I did touch on it in my question, but Yuri is a part of the Harmonixers, a bloodline that can change into monsters by fusion with their souls. While it is a genetic thing from his father's side, up to a certain event it pains him, both physically and likely emotionally/mentally to be able to change at will. While he uses it to his advantage, up until his visit in his Graveyard— an area in his soul where he can interact and deal with the soul pacts he's made— with Alice, it's not something he is thrilled about having. Having it connected to trauma and waking up covered in blood as a child after turning for the first time was an experience that scarred him deeply, and living with the fear that the monster souls may take over him at any given time. That fear is still there, but it's a low possibility now that he's older and can control it much better than he could when he was still a child.
While he may like to act like he's a total badass and can push aside most of his guilt to use it, it can still sting. He's come to terms that the Mistletoe Curse will kill him, and he can be with his lady again with no guilt, which is enough of a resolve that now, he can push down the dislike of his ability enough to use it fully to his advantage.
That same trauma drove him to have little interaction with people— the first game he had taken on mercenary work to kill the same monsters that had killed his mother, but really didn't interact with people often. People who are incredibly close to him he will confide in and talk more of himself, first with Alice and later with Karin after traveling with her for some time and learning about her and learning to trust her.

- Piggybacking off of his whole 'I am a total badass' schtick, Yuri truly does think he's great (and he is!) but he's also pretty dweeby. He also seems to cut some tense moments with one-liners and humor, though he does know when he needs to keep himself serious. He will always be serious when the situation needs, which is often, but that won't stop him from being an absolute little shit eventually.
He'll also have his moments where he does show his true self of "I'll try to be cool, but I'm a little silly/too nice", such as moments where he and Karin meet the Ring Soul where he tries to be jovial or nice, but still feels kind of like he's being an ass. At first it's curiosity about what the Ring Soul is, but as time goes on, and after being kind of a jerk to the poor Ring Soul just doing his job (yes, the RS is a 'he', he has a wife and kid?! Shadow Hearts is weird), he tries to overdo it to be polite later on once the Ring Soul decides that Yuri (and Karin, usually with him) brushed him off... instead he overdoes it in "how's the wife? How's the kid?! Why are you leaving so quickly, stay and chat!" It does turn to wanting to help the poor Ring Soul, and offering advice.
Despite staying away from people in general save forsmall interactions, Yuri does want to find connections in people; he has in his journeys over the course of the games he is in. After living alone for so long and knowing that wanting revenge on those who took his loved ones away would only be maximized by keeping to himself and staying away from towns was probably good. Trouble does like following him, and he'd rather keep casualties to a minimum if he can at all help it.

Abilities & Inventory: Yuri cannot use magic, so any dreamotion he ends up being able to use will be one giant surprise to him. He can use magic in his Fusion forms, but outside of those, no. His Fusions can be found here, and by end-game they would be max level. However, for the sake of nerfs, any strong abilities would likely be halved - still strong, but no stronger than anyone else at their max ability in Songerein, or just able to use an ability once in a battle instead of how it would be normally, however mods want to shake that. :)
Inventory would be his Chimera Claw weapon, his pendant, a pedometer, and some lottery tickets.

Suitability & Plans: Yuri can do well with or without castmates, and his own path of adventure has been hard. Having a reprieve for a while to live in a world of dreams means he can take a break from a literal world war— his 'world' is an alternate version of our own, and WW1 is beginning during Covenant— and relax some... even if it's not true relaxation :') With the occasional punchin', of course.

Questions: Yuri is a harmonixer, which is a bloodline that can fuse with the souls of monsters. His own past has him being the "real special" one who, because of his excessive life trauma, can fuse with multiple souls as opposed to just one or two&mdash if possible, would he be able to gain a noctaere or even an Eraser fusion (or "fusion", so to speak) should he see/fight enough of them? Nothing crazy like a Story Eater or whatnot, of course! It could have some basic abilities and some watered down nightmare attacks, or whatever you deem fit if yes!
